POKER “CHIP” RUN
FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2026
While it sounds like fun, A poker run is not a mad dash with playing cards flying everywhere! Poker runs are an ingenious and interactive event that has been around for decades. It’s simple, really: participants visit various locations or venues, drawing a playing card or, in our case, a numbered chip, all in pursuit of the best poker hand or the highest total number by the end. Many organizations use it as a fundraiser. For the participants, the drive itself and the friendships made along the way are the real reward. For us, it is a fun way to start the Cruisin’ The Drag weekend, and the poker run is part of our annual fundraiser to help kids in need.
This is a shotgun-start poker run. You can start/register at any of the 5 locations listed below beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd, 2026.
If you need one, pick up a map of the locations and addresses of all stops when you register at your first stop.
Once your hand(s) are complete, head to the Do Bar to turn in your hands and enjoy the festivities!
The poker run starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. All hands must be turned in by 9:30 or they will not be counted.
The entry fee is $10 / per hand. There is no limit on the number of hands you can play. Cards can be purchased online at our store or at the location you select to start playing. Cards purchased online will be included in your package when you arrive.
Purchase a “Mulligan” for $5 at each stop to replace the chip you’ve drawn at THAT location. Up to 4 Mulligan’s – per hand – at each stop are permitted. The chip you draw must be surrendered before drawing a Mulligan chip.
Collect all 5 chips for your hand, then proceed directly to The Do Bar at 1800 3rd St. NW and turn in your hand(s). All cards must be turned in by 9:30 pm to be counted. We will be handing out awards for High Hand, 2nd Highest Hand, and Low Hand. There will be music, a full bar, and food from Godfather’s Pizza available until closing.
